What is your product(s)?
At Paul Rameau, we sell menswear and some unisex pieces. The line is inspired by my fathers wardrobe essentials & classics such as trousers and button downs shirts and my love for streetwear, casual clothing. A sector of our brand we focus on up-cycled pieces and create collections that are inspired by our ability to recreate & design from items that were already made.
Where were you with your idea or business before joining Factory45?
I started Factory45 while working with my sister on her brand a few years before I launched mine. Before Factory45 it was pretty difficult to find the resources we needed to scale our brand. The amount of information we learned after finishing Factory45 compared to before was unmatched. Still to this day, I haven’t come across anything like it. It’s almost like a cheat code especially for someone who’s in ideation mode in starting their fashion business.
How did joining Factory45 help you?
The most valuable thing I learned joining Factory45 was sourcing fabrics and transitioning from that process to then finding the right manufacturer for the type of garments we wanted to create. The most difficult part in starting a fashion brand is the start so when Shannon gives step by step directions on what to do and where to find it; it helps a lot. Going through the research process to find the right manufacturer can be daunting so I really love how useful that portion of the program is.
In your opinion, what is the most valuable thing about Factory45?
The most valuable thing about Factory45 is that it’s actually worth the cost. Often times you find yourself paying for resources or programs that leaves you in the same situation from where you started but I can honestly say Factory45 is worth every penny. It’s taken so many fashion businesses from idea to actually launching the line they dreamed about. I don’t think there’s anything more valuable than that.
What were some big or small milestones that you hit after going through Factory45?
Our big milestone after we finished Factory45 was starting and completing our crowdfunding campaign. It was so overwhelming at first but Factory45 gave us everything we needed to have a successful launch from start to finish.
Please describe your business after Factory45.
After completing Factory45, I launched Paul Rameau. Since our launch in November of 2018, we’ve been featured in the Boston Globe, Boston Magazine, Boston Common Magazine and have increased sales each year. The most important accomplishment has been my confidence to grow and scale my brand because of the experience I gain since going through Factory45.
