Through Factory45, I created a brand and a product that I believed in, that was beautiful, high quality and socially and environmentally responsible. We launched a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised almost $90K.
After Factory45, I have more clarity on what I’m doing with my business and the direction I want to take it. I’m currently in the experimental phase of creating some new products that I hope to add to my line later this year or beginning of next.
Before joining Factory45, I had just a glimmer of an idea for wanting to design my own clothing line. At the time, I was working in costume design for film and TV, but had dreamed of starting my own company.
Fair Seas Supply Co.
It’s simply beyond amazing to actually be able to say that I have a business. This has been a lifelong dream of mine, and at 32 years old Factory45 was the exact thing I needed to give me the push to do it.
Novel Supply Co.
I have managed to create my brand, source fabrics, find a pattern and sample maker (locally) and find a manufacturer (locally). These are things that never would have been possible had it not been for Shannon’s lessons, connections, calls and ongoing support.
[Before joining Factory45] I was at the idea stage. I had sketched out the first collection but honestly had no idea where to go, who to talk to or how to start an apparel business. Do I go on Etsy, should I start sewing, can I actually work with a factory?… Factory45 is exactly what I needed to take the next steps.
