What is your product(s)?
We make organic baby and toddler apparel and accessories with adjustable ‘grow-with-me’ features that allow our clothing to fit for 2-3 times longer than traditional sizing. We use high-quality, sustainable materials and all of our products are handmade by our small team.
Where were you with your idea or business before joining Factory45?
I started Pure Colour Baby in 2012 and I have been working on it part-time since then. Over the last 2 years I have put more focus (and time) into my business but I was struggling with next steps and felt like I needed some direction and mentorship to grow my business further. I found Factory45 and it was the perfect fit.
How did joining Factory45 help you?
Factory45 taught me SO many incredibly important things. My background is in the interior design field so I really appreciated learning about sampling, production and working with sew shops. I now feel much more confident in my business decisions and ready to take those next steps. I have narrowed down my focus, streamlined my collections and really honed in on what makes my business special.
In your opinion, what is the most valuable thing about Factory45?
The lessons and resources were super valuable, as was the personal connection to Shannon. I have also discovered a few new supplier resources which I had not been able to locate on my own. The F45 community is also wonderful! The advice and encouragement in our group was so valuable. I made a big change with my grow-with-me sizing and having the community to bounce ideas off of was a big help.
What were some big or small milestones that you hit after going through Factory45?
I participated in my first large, multi-day artisan show in a large city last fall and I just did another show last week. I redesigned all of our sizing and introduced new pieces for our spring collection. Myself and my assistant did all of the pattern drafting, tested on tiny fit models and produced the collection.
